An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom

This self-paced online module will give teachers an overview of the history of technological innovations in education and explore AI tools that can be used in the classroom. Participants will finish this module with a basic understanding of artificial intelligence and collaborate with an AI tool to develop a resource for their classroom.

​Engagement Tools for the MSD Classroom

1.5 Hours of PD Credit

 

This 1 ½ hour self-paced module shows multiple ways to increase student engagement in the MSD classroom (and other settings) using different pieces of assistive technology. We discuss switches, a computer interface, mounting devices, and a variety of websites. You will find helpful videos, information on lending libraries, printable communication boards, and much more.

​Making ChatGPT Your Teaching Assistant

1 Hour of PD Credit

Take your teaching to the next level with this self-paced training designed to help educators harness the power of ChatGPT for everyday instructional and professional tasks. Whether you’re a classroom teacher, instructional coach, or school leader, you’ll discover how AI can save you time, spark creativity, and enhance the quality of your work.

In this training, you’ll learn how to:

  • Create Standards-Based Lesson Plans – Design lessons aligned to state standards in minutes, complete with differentiated supports.
     

  • Build Effective Scoring Rubrics and Feedback Banks – Develop clear, objective rubrics for assignments, projects, and assessments that support consistent grading.
     

  • Design Professional Development Trainings – Produce interactive, well-structured training sessions and materials for staff learning.

 

You’ll leave with clear strategies and tools you can use immediately in your classroom to make ChatGPT your personal teaching assistant. One hour of PD credit will be awarded for completing this on-demand module.

​Using AI for Student Access in Reading

1.5 Hours of PD Credit

Creating adapted text is essential for our students with disabilities. Unsure of how to do that? Let articifial intelligence (AI) do it for you! This 1.5-hour self-paced module will walk you through how to get AI to create and/or adapt text for your students. Then, we look to Canva to create the pictures.
