This online learning module will support school staff in understanding the Alternate Assessment Math Progressions. The module contains a one-hour self-paced learning video, front-loading of information prior to watching the self-paced video, and passing of a post-test to earn the three hours of PD credit.
Engagement Tools for the MSD Classroom

This 1 ½ hour self paced module shows multiple ways to increase student engagement in the MSD classroom (and other settings) using different pieces of assistive technology. We discuss switches, a computer interface, mounting devices, and a variety of websites. You will find helpful videos, information on lending libraries, printable communication boards, and much more.
Kentucky Academic Standards and Alternate Assessment Targets
3 Hours of PD Credit
In this training series, you will be exploring the revised KY academic standards in relation to alternate assessment targets and resources available to teachers to help you deepen your understanding of the standards’ big ideas and key concepts. The training plan is divided into three (3) phases that will be released over the Summer and Fall of 2020.
Making Literacy Accessible for All through Adapting Text

Do you have students who struggle accessing text in typical formats (i.e. chapter books, a lot of words and content, textbooks)? This self-guided/paced online training, Making Literacy Accessible for ALL Students through Adapting Text, is developed for school staff working with students with disabilities who struggle to access text in typical formats. Participants will be guided through steps to adapt the text for their students with a variety of disabilities to increase participation in literacy experiences (i.e. decrease text but not content, add pictures for understanding, include engagement questions).

Postsecondary Readiness and Alternate Assessment (CWEC and ESAR)

In this module, participants will learn about transition components of the alternate assessment, include the transition attainment record (TAR), career work/experience certification (CWEC) and employability skills attainment record (ESAR). This session is perfect for new high school MSD teachers, or high school MSD teachers who need a refresher on requirements, scheduling, and documenting career/work experiences for their students.

Social Emotional Learning for Students with Intellectual Disabilities
1 Hour of PD Credit

This on-demand module will provide participants with strategies for supporting Social Emotional Learning in students with Intellectual Disabilities. Participants will receive resources and strategies that can be implemented in the classroom immediately.

Supporting Students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities to Write
3 Hours of PD Credit
This online learning module will provide strategies for school staff working with students with moderate to severe disabilities to create writing pieces. The module contains a one-hour self-paced learning video, front-loading of information prior to watching the video, and passing a post-test to earn three hours of professional development credit.

Using AI for Student Access in Reading

Creating adapted text is essential for our students with disabilities. Unsure of how to do that? Let artificial intelligence (AI) do it for you! This 1.5-hour self-paced module will walk you through how to get AI to create and/or adapt text for your students. Then, we look to Canva to create the pictures.
