Youth Mental Health First Aid: No Fee for CKEC Member Districts or Non-Member Districts

  • Target Audience: Any educators, therapists, families, or community agency partners working with 6th grade students and older.
  • Description: Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an 8 hour training that is evidenced based and is designed to help participants feel confident and comfortable to approach a youth experiencing a mental health challenge, mental disorder, or a mental health crisis and then refer the youth to a professional if needed. The first aid is given until appropriate help is received or until the crisis resolves. Mental Health First Aid does not teach people to diagnose or to provide treatment. Lunch will be provided through the Project AWARE Grant.
