Understanding and Supporting Children with Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders

  • Target Audience: Special education teachers, school psychologists, social workers, general education teachers, counselors, directors of special education and administrators
  • Description: “Understanding and Supporting Children with Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders” will discuss how Tourette Syndrome (TS) and co-occurring conditions like OCD, ADHD, and executive dysfunction, among others, impact learning and behavior. This presentation will address behavioral management strategies and accommodations to improve classroom performance and create a positive educational environment for students with TS. Particular emphasis will be given to the importance of functional behavioral assessments and positive behavioral interventions and effective strategies for students with TS and related issues.  All participants will receive free educational materials to share with their school district.
