  • Target Audience:  Classroom teachers K-5, special education teachers, instructional coaches, and principals which have been trained and are currently implementing Guided Reading Practices from Jan Richardson
  • Description: This is a session for teachers that have been previously trained in Guided Reading and have experience using the Jan Richardson planning template and methodology.  Participants will work with student data to identify strengths and weaknesses and plan guided reading lessons to accelerate student learning. This session will also dive deeply into the instructional practices presented in Jan Richardson’s “The Next Steps in Guided Reading”.  Focus will be oral language, word study, visual scanning, teacher prompting, and teaching for specific reading behaviors for the emergent to the fluent reader.
