  • Target Audience: K-8 interventionists, and special education teachers
  • Description:  Based on the Orton Gillingham Method and strategies from the Springer School in Cincinnati, this is a training that will focus on the five essential components of reading, developing receptive and expressive language and building memory through multisensory teaching techniques and intervening with readers that continue to struggle. Participants will learn how to administer assessments, identify student weaknesses and develop lessons that meet a variety of student needs.   Participants will be trained in progress monitoring tools and the use of the Language Toolkit.  Participants will be given a lesson plan for multisensory instruction, a strategies binder, The Language Toolkit, Recipe for Reading and prop pack.  (This is a four day training: July 29, 30, Aug. 26 and Sept. 23.  You will automatically be registered for all four days.   Participants must attend all sessions)
