Kids Living on Their Smartphone?: No Fee for CKEC Member Districts; $35 for Non-Member Districts
- Presenter: Kim Caudell
- Target Audience: Counselors, social workers, special education teachers and paras.
- Description: Kids who constantly use phones and computers tend to be more nervous in face-to-face conversations. What can teachers do to help? If students are glued to technology 24/7, it’s going to have an effect on social skills—it’s a just natural consequence. Teens are using social media as a crutch, a replacement for the in-person interactions that help them develop socially. This session will provide practical strategies for balancing the use of technology and teaching social skills to secondary level students.
