Adapting High School Books to Teach Core Content for Students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities

- Target Audience: High school staff who work with students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Description: Description: This session will empower you to create engaging activities that focus on creating a print rich environment for students with moderate to severe disabilities using a grade level middle and/or high school literature book. Participants will develop activities to support collaboration between the teacher, SLP, OT, PT, VI Teacher, and/or D/HH Teacher. The activities will be appropriate for all students regardless of the disability or communication level. Many of the activities will focus on the Alternate K-PREP standards. Participants should bring a container, or back pack to store the products created in the training. Book to be adapted is The House on Mango Street.
