In-person: Sept 9 and Nov. 16 (2021) and Mar 1, 2022

Online synchronous: Oct. 18, 2021 and Feb. 1, 2022

The Conceptual Building Blocks is designed to build a teacher’s capacity to work with students in various settings.  The approach is rooted in a concrete–semi-concrete–abstract (CSA) methodology of teaching and develops conceptual understanding along the way to procedural understanding.  This three-day module focuses on building fraction sense, operations with fractions, connections to decimals, and addressing misconceptions.  Participants will also learn how to incorporate several High-Leverage Practices for Special Education into their instruction on fractions.

Between the in-person meetings, there will be a one hour virtual follow-up. (PD credit awarded)

Additionally, the trainer will schedule times with each participant for classroom visits and coaching.
