Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative Special Education

Who are we:
The Central Kentucky Special Education Cooperative (CKSEC) was established to provide Professional Development and Support Services that focus on relevant issues identified by the needs of it’s 24 member districts and the Kentucky Department of Education.

CKSEC is governed by a board of directors that represents the 24 school districts in Central Kentucky. The board members are district superintendents or their designees from all member districts. The CKSEC staff consists of a full time executive director who oversees the project, a coordinator who provides professional development, four (4) full time consultants, a part-time behavioral consultant, and a full time administrative assistant.

Staff development, consultation, and technical assistance are available to member districts. Staff Development is offered at the following levels: awareness, application and implementation.

The Central Kentucky Special Education Cooperative shares office space at the University of Kentucky with its fiscal agent, the Central Kentucky Education Cooperative.
